For those of who know me know that I love movies. I'm kind of obsessed. I watch trailers for fun when I am bored. I get Entertainment Weekly every Friday and I read it cover to cover. I like to have parties for the Golden Globes and most importantly THE OSCARS. So this post is just a highlight of the movies that are going to come out this year....the most anticipated films.

As you can see it has been a great 2011 for us. We are so grateful that we are both able to work full-time and still have opportunities to go on little adventures. We are grateful to have family living so close by and that my family is willing to visit so often. We hope 2012 will be just as good!!

Oats in a jar

So goood!!! Kim Ballard gave me this idea and I had to try it. It is so easy....So whenever you have a peanut butter jar that you are done with. You just add these simple ingredients:

-3/4 cup of Oats (i just fill the jar up 3/4th way)

-pinch of cinnamon

-1/2 tsp vanilla

-2 packets of splenda

-fill the rest up with MILK ( i used fat-free, but you can do Soy or Almond)

Then you just put it in the fridge overnight and let them soak. The next morning you just grab and go! The more left over peanut butter in the jar the better.

Wow we have been awfully busy this holiday season. With me working Christmas eve eve and Christmas eve it seemed like Christmas day caught me by surprise. Here is just a bunch of pics of what we have been up to this past week...

As of lately:

-I finally convinced Casey to get breakfast with me one Saturday morning. We chose Village Inn. very delish

-Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert at Temple Square (pictures to come)

-Me working full-time! I'm finally getting used to the 12 hour shifts at the same time enjoying only working 3 days a week

-my cousin Whitney's Baby Shower! baby girl coming in February! so excited

-my cousin Jace's Farewell- he is going to Colombia!

-finished all of my Christmas shopping! and wrapped everything today. Feels awesome.

-Bates Christmas Party at Casey's grandparents house in Midway, UT

-Mailed my lil bro Trent's present- He is on his mish in Arizona

-frequently visiting Starbucks to get hot chocolate with Toffee Nut. go try it !! so good.

-looking forward to Christmas! not looking forward to working on Christmas Eve and not seeing my family :(

For Thanksgiving this year we were able to go to California and stay at my parents house since they were in Hawaii. It was kind of a different experience to have all my in laws in my house in CA and not have my parents there. But we had lots of fun! We were able to see all of Casey's Dad's side of the family, go surfing, go to the beach!, shop Americana and the MART and just feel the warmth outside!

So my family flew to Hawaii today for Thanksgiving without me so I'm just trying to think of things to look forward to to keep myself from being depressed. The number one thing on my mind these days...

1. It's official...Case and I are going to COSTA RICA. We just bought our tickets (cleaned out the skymiles...it was pretty hard to do:( and confirmed the hotel! I hope January comes sooner than expected. Due to my new job we do not get to go home for Christmas so this trip will have to make up for it :)

2. Thanksgiving in California

So since my family is in Hawaii...we thought it would be a great idea to bring Casey's whole family to California and stay at my house! Plus Casey's Dad's family lives out in Long Beach. We are looking forward to some sunshine and the beach!

I did it. I bought my season pass today. And I need a ski bunny to be my partner in crime. I'm thinking this is going to be my last season to really ski my heart out. You never know what the next years will bring with work, family and jobs. So I'm looking forward to the snow...for once!!!

This is such a great book. My best friend Sara and I read it our freshman year at BYU and laughed out loud while crying at the same time. It is a great story and I am so excited to see it on film! Coming to theaters January 2012...you still have a while to read the book if you have not already!

Lately our weekends have been consumed of football, me working too much, Sunday drives up the canyon and my parents coming in to town to visit! Nothing beats fall time in Utah.

This is from the first BYU home game of the season. It was a bad game for those who all know the outcome. But I thought this American Flag was pretty awesome!

Did anyone know that there are hikes that you can do when you take the chairlift up?? We discovered some really cool ones. There is one that takes you to Stewart Falls and another that goes to the back of the mountain. The one we did was a short loop that took us back to the chairlift. It had awesome views of the mountains/valley.

Labor Day Weekend and Lately

This is way overdue. Oh well. So for Labor Day weekend I scored and got a ride with friends to California and a cheap flight on my way back. It was a nice little break right after taking my NCLEX (RN boards). I was able to go surfing with my Dad and Chad, shopping with Mac and my Mom, go to Rachel Lange's wedding! and finally go swimming in our pool! (my family moved a year ago...kinda sad).

Case's Birthday and Ben+Sami's Wedding!!

I totally forgot to do a post for Casey's 28th Birthday! The same day, his best friend Ben Truman got married to a fabulous girl names Sami Barker. It was a great little ceremony. Between the Temple and the luncheon we took a tour to the top of the Church Building and got to see a sweet view. We are super excited about Ben and Sam getting married! Now we can hang out even more!

Later that week we had some birthday celebrations for my main man. We went up to Gateway and got dinner with a bunch of friends.

Earlier that day I took Case to lunch at Pizza Factory...little did I know that they have this amazing Pazookie Dessert. It was heaven! If you go, get the one with oatmeal chocolate-chip. yummm

Movie Review: THE DEBT

I saw this great movie last week while I was home with my parents. It was a little on the suspenseful side but so goood! A total must-see. In one sentence the movie is about: A trio of former Mossad agents are haunted by a dangerous secret mission they undertook over three decades ago. The main actress (the younger version of Helen Mirren) Jessica Chastain is amazing. She is my new obsession. She was also in The Tree of Life with Brad Pitt and The Help (see pic below). So if you are up to a good suspenseful drama full of twists you should definitely see this one!

This is a bit overdue. I am way behind on all my blogging. For nursing school we have graduation but not until October, in the meantime we do what is called a "Pinning Ceremony". It used to be called a "Capping Ceremony"--but that was when most nurses were Female and they wore those cool looking white caps (think Pearl Harbor).

My parents came up from California for this momentous event. I am so grateful that they made the journey just for me.

A couple weeks ago my Grandma and Grandpa Anderson took all 78 cousins on a cruise! We went to the Mexican Riviera for 7 days-7 nights. It was so much fun to hang out and catch up with all my cousins. We literally could not go anywhere on the ship without seeing someone we knew!

CABO day 2: This was by far my favorite day. We went surfing at this break called "Old Man's"-it's called that I think because the wave is very similar to San Onofre aka Old Man's in CA. A big fat friendly wave. Anyways, so we had seriously about 25 of my cousins out in the water at the same time. I don't think I have ever surfed with that many people I'm related to at once. It was a blast. Every wave you went on you knew someone. We were all just cheering each other on.

PUERTA VALLARTA: We went on a Zip-lining adventure up in the mountains. It was so HOT! I wish I had pictures of us ziplining. We ziplined over valleys with rivers running under us. It was awesome.

Before we went on the Anderson Family Cruise to Mexico we went to the surf open in Huntington Beach. It was iNSANE!!!! So many people. And nobody was even surfing. LAME. They did have a free MGMT concert---a little too crowded for my liking. One good thing about our little excursion was that we were able to meet up with Casey's little brother Cary who lives in Long Beach. Note to self: next time, do not go to the surf open on a Saturday--rather a Wednesday or Thursday.

I finished school on Tuesday!!! woo wooooo. It is a great feeling. HOWEVER, now I have to study for my boards and pass them. (probably sometime at the end of this month, Then I will really be an RN). In the mean time I bought myself a little graduation present....I had it hiding under my bed waiting for me to finish school.

This is a little tribute to one of my favorite cousins EMILY BALLARD (soon to be Evans). I am so excited for this gurrl. She is getting married tomorrow in the Los Angeles Temple and I am just about to hop on a flight to be there for all the festivities. I am so proud of Em for making the decision to get married in the temple. She is an awesome girl. I remember growing up with Em, sometimes I felt like she was the older one because she was so mature. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and she has always had such a strong conscience. Em I am so happy for you!!!!! You have always been such a great friend/cousin to me and I really appreciate it!!! I love you girlfriend!!! xoxoxo

You heard it. Only 23 days left of nursing school...not that I'm counting or anything. And these 23 days are not going to be easy. For example here is a review of my past and upcoming week:

Friday: Preceptor at the hospital (kind of like an internship)- all day 0530am-8pm

Saturday: Work 2-10pm

Sunday: Church then Work 2-10 pm

Monday: Preceptor all day 0600am-7pm

Tuesday: Class all day

Wednesday: Clinical at the State Mental Hospital 8am-2pm, then Work 2pm-10pm

(that's going to be a long day)

Thursday: Class in the morning, tests in the afternoon

Friday: Preceptor all day

WOW.

After reviewing all of this I began thinking about what COLLEGE used to be like....Playing in the library and staying till midnight just so we could be there when they blasted the music, not having to work so much, getting attacked by Maddog in the dorms, not having to worry about "really learning" the things in my classes because I knew I would never use them again (hah not the case with NURSING). Man, those were the days!

So I've attempted to stop drinking Diet Coke. I know it's bad for me. But lately with school, work, capstone, clinicals, etc... I need the caffeine to get me through the day. So I have found an alternative: Crystal Light Energy. It's sooo good and has about 50 mg of caffeine in 16oz. I need to find if they have other flavors though cause I'm kind of getting sick of the strawberry.

Another snack I've discovered lately are Mini Bags of Kettle Korn. These are the perfect snack coming in at only 100 kcals and they have tons of fiber. I'm obsessed.

There are some benefits that come from living within walking distance to the Scera Pool/Area. #1 = Shaved Ice! and oh is it good. I prefer the Tiger's Blood w/ Mango (creamie style). #2 = the Scera Shell: They have musicals all summer long, currently playing Singing in the Rain. And they also have movies outside every Wednesday night. #3= the POOL. I have yet to go. I want to get back into swimming. They have lap swim every morning 7-9 am. Anybody want to join us for any of the above activities? Let me know!

Yesterday was my day off since I did not get a weekend this week due to a combination of clinicals at the State Hospital and doing hours for my internship. So I decided to go see a movie by myself. I went to Riverwoods to see Midnight in Paris. and I LOVED it! Here is a short synopsis of what the movie is about: Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams are a couple who travel to Paris for business and have their lives transformed. It's kind of a movie that is more on the artsy side. A critic explained it well by saying, "Midnight in Paris is a fairy tale, a parfait of whimsy." More than anything, this movie makes me want to go to Paris sooo bad. I would love to just go there and wander the streets with Case, do some exploring. Hopefully some day this will happen :)
This movie made me fall in love with Marion Cotillard. She is such a babe. She is actually a French-born actress and singer. You have probably seen her in movies like Inception, La Vie en Rose, Public Enemies, and Big Fish.

On Saturday Casey's parents plus Case and I went on a hike up Rock Canyon. It was beeeauuutiful! It was a perfect way to start our Saturday. It has finally turned into Summer around her and I could not be more excited. Casey got me some legit hiking shoes and I have already being doing some research about all the local hikes. It's going to be an active summer outdoors! I've been waiting a while for this season.

I saw these shoes the other day and fell in love. I don't own any Sperrys and these looked like a great first pair. HOwever....I am not the kind of girl to just go and blow $100 on a pair of shoes for no reason. I like to make myself feel like I deserve it. I like to set goals, accomplish them and then go make my purchase all while feeling good about it. So I thought of a very noteworthy goal: Case and I have been saving all of the money I make at work and we kind have a number that we want to hit. I think we are only a couple of weeks away from reaching that goal! Then I can get my shoes!

Yesterday I had my last final of my 4th semester...meaning--I only have one more semester of nursing school left! There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I am getting so burned out with school. I literally have been going straight with no breaks (through the summer) since Fall 2008. I can't believe I am still sane. Come August 5th I will be free!...take the NCLEX and hopefully speedily get an RN job. Wish me luck! I am going to need the stamina for this last semester.

I saw some random blog that had this post and I thought it would be fun. So here are the random jobs that I have done in my lifetime.

1. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Best Job Ever! I worked here part-time my junior and senior year of high school. Probably only once a week. It was a dream job. I sampled everything multiple times...especially the Avalanche Apple. mmmmmmmm..soo good.

2. Nanny: this one I have done on and off in High School and when I would go home to La Canada for the spring/summer.

3. Baskin Robbins: This job was fun but not worth the pay. I was a freshman at BYU and I wanted some play money so I got a job here..right across the street from the dorms. Again, I sampled everything and if you ever wanted a sample a I filled that little pink sample spoon so full that I had to dump it into your hand. Ask my friend Sara...she visited me just for the samples.

4. Central Utah Surgical Center: quitting here was seriously the worst decision I have made in my ENTIRE LIFE. I don't know what I was thinking. I only worked here 6 mos...then I decided to quit because I wanted to "focus on school" and not getting into BYU's nursing program. I was stupid. I loved this job! I was an assistant to the nurses in the recovery room. I tried multiple times to go back and get a job..with no avail.

5. Advanced Spine and Pain Solutions: I worked here for 2 years. Made some great friends who I miss a lot. While working here I was a physical therapy aide/personal trainer/receptionist/secretary/massage therapist/therapist. haha. It was a good experience.

6. LPN at Courtyard at Jamestown Assisted Living: My first nursing job. It's going well so far! I have learned a lot, crushed a TON of pills, and put many band-aids on. I'm loving the residents I work with, they teach me new things every day.

Since we've been married, Case and i have not REALLY celebrated Easter. So this time I decided to splurge and make us little easter baskets. They were nothing too special but I did buy the best of the easter candies: Peeps (I know they are just marshmallows but I love them-slightly stale), Reese's PB eggs, Cadbury mini eggs, Starburst Jelly Beans and Cadbury creme eggs. Plus I bought myself a movie and Case got a new book to read on his business trip to PHX. After church we went to Case's parents to watch our niece and nephew Cali and Cole do their little easter egg hunt and later that evening we had dinner with Casey's grandparents. It was a great Easter Sunday and I still have some candy left over :)

WATER FOR ELEPHANTS is so good.

I read the book a week before the movie came out and I loved it! It's a good story-not a true one- but the author did tons of research on the time period and incorporated true events of the era into her book. We saw the movie on Friday and it was amazing. I am usually not too impressed when books are turned into movies--but this one was an exception. Casey's friend Ben equated it to Titanic...a love story of poverty and riches surrounded by an event bigger than the main characters themselves. It's a must see.

Every year my family comes to visit Utah on their spring break. These days the only kids left at home are Chad and Kenzie. I feel bad because they came for the worst weather ever. The week before it was in the 60s-low 70s and when they came it just snowed/haled/rained the whole time. We were able to go skiing one day in Park City but it was cold!!! Good thing we just filled the other days with our favorite things: movies, eating and bowling!!

I turned 23 on Wednesday. It was a great day besides having to be at school for most of the day. I woke up to Casey's pancakes (he is a highly skilled pancake maker). Then I studied...took a test, did ok. In between classes my sister Becca took me to get a Scalp Treatment at Paul Mitchell. It was amazing! For dinner case and I had Tucanos...sooo yummmmy. Too bad we were too stuffed to enjoy all the wonderful desserts at my partaaay! Case organized a little get to together with friends/family. Thanks so much for coming everyone!!

Today it snowed. YES, SNOW. It's almost the end of March. March is a very bipolar month in Utah. So to help myself not slip into a deep, dark, cold depression I decided to make myself a list of things that I am looking forward in the upcoming months.

1. HAWAII in May.

This trip has been planned forever and it finally feels like it is coming soon.

2. Fresh picked fruit in the summer. Utah has the BEST PEACHES.

3. Beach + SUN . This one might not happen too often this summer. But I do have a Seven Peaks pass :)

4. Tulip Festival this Spring at Thanksgiving Point. I have yet to go and this year is going to be my year.

5. Surfing. Hopefully I will get to go a couple of times this summer. At least I will go in Hawaii. Maybe we will do a roadtrip home in July.

6. Island Park for the 4th of July. Seriously, can't think of a better place to be on the 4th with these lovely ladies.

7. Hikes and just being outside.

8. Picnics up Provo canyon.

9. Park City ALPINE SLIDES. It's so beautiful and green in the summer. I love it.

10. Baseball Games. We love the Dodgers but we can compromise with Bees and Owlz games too.

11. Last but NOT least....Graduation #2 - from Nursing School !!!! wooo wooooooo

So, even though today was pretty crappy with all the snow and coldness...I've realized that I have some great things I am looking forward to. Remember, Count your Blessings :)

This past weekend Case and I took separate vacations. I went home to California for some fun in the sun and Case went on a boys trip to Vegas for the basketball tournament with his dad, brother and Dale. We both had a great time but I was kinda missing my bud towards the end.

We went and saw "Jane Eyre". Great movie. If you liked Pride and Predjudice you will love this one.

Mac has this crazy love obsession with The Biebs. She even gets his tweets forwarded to her phone as text messages. He smiles at her every morning on her way to school.

I am not by any means making light of the Tsunami in Japan situation at all. But, in all honesty I'm pretty sure I caught the wave that shut down all the beaches in Orange County and Santa Barbara County. For some odd reason they did not shutdown any beaches in LA County. In fact, there were a couple firetrucks in the parking lot at Malibu and they did not say a word to us as we walked out into the water. There was a crowd forming on the beach with photographers and news crews waiting for the 8:41 am tsunami warning. The waves were seriously on 1-2 ft...but then out of nowhere, around the time when the suspected wave was coming, a perfect 4 ft wave came rolling in with my name on it. It was epic.

SO they have not moved in yet....but Casey and I are lucky enough to have 2 fabulous new neighbors moving to our street soon. Casey's sister Kelly Heinz, her husband Bryce and their babe Benson will be moving into the upstairs of the house with the basement that Casey and I used to live in (literally just at the end of our block). and Casey's brother Kevin, his wife Jen and their 3 kids will be moving right across the street from Kelly's house! How amazing is that? We created our very own Orem Family Compound. and let's just say that we are pretty excited. I mean what are the chances?

So I bought Casey these tickets for Christmas which seems like forever ago. We both really love Joshua Radin. His song "I'd Rather Be With You" was kind of our theme song when we got married. It was a great concert! I love when you go to concerts and you realize that the person is even BETTER live then they are on the radio. I had a midterm earlier that day so Joshua was the only thing pulling me through. and He totally did!

(although "In the Venue" is probably the WORST venues in the entire world....this might have been the last time I will ever go there).

So I kind of have this weird obsession with Donuts. I don't know where it came from. NOT the store bought donuts or even the donuts they sell at the grocery store bakery...the donuts I like are the ones that come from the little hole in the wall donut joints. When I was a kid we would always get donuts, especially on the weekends. My dad would take us to this little Chinese Food/Donut Place (that's how they roll in California) named Chor's. They had the BEST donut holes ever. and then there was Fosters Donuts too. Throughout my high school years I never really enjoyed chowing down on a good donut....it wasn't seriously until this past year that I have come to welcome the Donut back into my life. SO while on this subject I would like to share some of my favorite joints.

We visited Thomas's while on Casey's business trip to Panama City Beach Florida. They had ammmazing blueberry cake donuts and red velvet!

These bad boys are from Oahu, HI. a little place called Leonards. My family (above) went to the actual cafe but they also have trucks that drive around the island selling "hot malasadas". They are like sugared donuts filled with different fillings like raspberry, chocolate or custard.

This is Case enjoying his favorite "crumb donut" from the Golden Donut Place in my hometown La Canada, CA. We visit this joint a couple times whenever we come home to visit.

DAYLIGHT Donuts. Now this is a local favorite right down the hill in Pleasant Grove, UT. Casey introduced me to this place. They have great chocolate cake donuts and raspberry bearclaws. Case and I have started a new tradition of getting donuts on Saturday morning and we either go here or Provo Bakery.

Leucadia Donut Shoppe is a little gem we found while on a family vaca in Carlsbad last summer. We had been surfing at Swami's and we were sooo hungry. It was still pretty early in the morning and donuts sounded fabulous. So my Dad's buddy Blake told us about this donut shop. They seriously had the most amazing chocolate cake donuts I have had in my entire life.

Last but not least. Provo Bakery. We went here last Saturday and it was yummy, just as expected. My favorite things to get are the glazed croissant and the raspberry fritter. Casey likes the glazed donut.

So there you go. I realize that this post makes me seem like a total fatty but oh well. I have an obsession. If I ever discover more donut gems I will keep you all posted!

Vegas Baby!!!

This is a bit overdue....but I had the pictures and I figured I might as well do a post. In January we went to Las Vegas with Dale and Chelsea. It was nice to get away from the cold for the weekend. Casey's good friend Ben Truman's dad is in the band Diamond Rio and they were having a show in Vegas so we figured why not go? Ben and his girlfriend Sami were already there so we just met up with them for the show. It was a blast..I thought I didn't know many of their songs but I was surprised how many I knew. Vegas is always a fun time...I love that it's so close to good ol Utah.

My parents just happened to be in Vegas for the Donny Marie Show with a bunch of couples from their ward. We met up with them at Serendipity for some frozen hot chocolates.

So I kind of have a girl crush on Natalie Portman. Ever since seeing her in Garden State I have made an effort to see every movie she is in. Some of my favorites are Closer, Star Wars (why not?), V for Vendetta and Where the Heart Is. So this brings me to her most recent film, THE BLACK SWAN. I want to see it sooo badly, especially since she is up for best actress this year for the Academy Awards. and It is supposed to be a phenomenal film. But there is a problem...I'm pretty sure I can not handle the lesbian sex scene. I've been told that it is quite graphic. There is just something about watching something like that that totally weirds me out.

Anyways, Natalie was on the cover of Entertainment Weekly a couple weeks ago (Case got me a subscription for Christmas) and here are a couple of her photos.

Case had a business trip this last weekend to Panama City Beach, Florida so I decided to tag along! We didn't have the warmest weather but it was refreshing to not see SNOW everywhere for once. Casey's co-worker Jake brought his wife Amy along too. Us girls just hung out during the day while the boys worked. We packed our days with finding cool beaches, shopping, golfing and eating donuts!

Case and I both had multiple hole-in-ones. We are rule min-golf.

Fine dining at Bayou on the Beach. Our waitress gave Amy and I Mardi Gras beads. Oh and they had Fried alligator and frog legs...yum.

Destin, FL

We drove down the scenic route and passed the coolest little beach towns. The movie the Truman Show was filmed in this one town called Seaside. They had the cutest houses ever. I wish I could live there. The beaches were amazing...I can't even imagine what they are like in the summer.

I'm not going to lie, I am kind of amazing at finding good places to eat when I travel. The secrets to my success have been a couple websites known as tripadvisor.com and urbanspoon.com. They have yet to fail me. So that brings me to Thomas's Donuts...this place was fabulous. We went two days in a row.

Here is another place I found. It's called Edens Garden State Park. The plantation house was built in the 1800s and the previous owner donated it to the state of Florida. So pretty.

You can't go to Florida without going golfing. We went to a par 3 course and the only patches of grass that were green were the tee box and the green.

So I kind of failed and ended up taking NO pictures on Christmas Day. I do not know what happened! I must have just left my camera at home... I did however take pictures on Christmas Eve. Casey, Kevin and I ended up going skiing at Snowbird for the day. It was a great way to celebrate not having to work that day! Later we had Chinese food with Casey's fam and just hung out. Christmas Day was a lazy one. We had a breakfast feast, opened presents and went to a movie.

This week we went to Salt Lake with the Kirklands to see the lights at Temple Square! It's a yearly tradition and it was fun to share it with Case's family. Afterwards we went to Hatch's Family Chocolates and got the best hot chocolate ever! It's amazing. If you ever go to Temple Square you have to go!

Last year Casey and I had the best costume ever! Leprechaun and Pot o' gold so this year we knew that we could not even compete with our former selves. So we opted for the classic Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. I need to start researching right now for next year's costume. It's a lot of work to come up with an original costume. Halloween was great this year though. We are on our activities committee so naturally we attended the ward Trunk or Treat. and we got to be judges for the costume contest which is so fun! Next we went to Casey's family's house for dinner. Later we headed to some friend parties. Lets just say it was a long night and I ate WAY too much candy!

My lil sista Rebecca Elizabeth Anderson turned 21 today !!!! She is legal! woooo woooo!!! She actually just went out and bought some wine from the state liquor store (to cook with...hopefully). Becca has always been such a great sister and friend to me. I really appreciate her in my life. And I'm so happy that she lives close to me! I am especially proud of Becs and her accomplishments in life. She is definitely one to set goals and follow through with them. Right now she is in culinary school at UVU and she works at a cupcake bakery as a little baker! She plans on one day opening a bakery of her own. I hope she has the best birthday ever! LOVE YOU BECS!

Earlier this week Case and I went to the Ingrid Michaelson concert with our good friends Dillon and Sara. My lil sister Becca and her friends were there as well. We had to wait forever outside to even get in (even though we had tickets) and it was freezzzing! with a little bit of hail. The concert was way fun! She is awesome. She did a rendition of Britney Spears "Toxic". IT was great. So by the time the concert was over there was a BLIZZARD outside!! It was nuts! We sprinted to our car and were all totally drenched by the time we got there.

So, October 26th was the first official snowfall of 2010. Not too bad I guess. Utah does not have 4 seasons. They have 2: Summer and Winter. Welcome to Winter!

This is the second item of my Dream List. I have been wanting one of these for a while. But the chances of getting one is slim to none at this point in my life. The AirStream "Bambi". It is amazing. 15' of happiness. The 2010 model is my favorite by far. My dream in life is to put some surf racks on the back and bike racks on the top and head down the California Coast with Case. So we have been quite busy these days. Here is a little catch-up of our lives lately!

First off, we went to the APX alarms Nitro Circus performance. I mainly went for the free J-dawgs and sugar-free RED BULL!

Second... My cousin Lindsay Anderson got married to Wyatt Tucker on 10/10/10 at Sundance. It was sooooo pretty. I didn't have a chance to get many pictures cause my camera died :(

Third....We went to Cornbelly's last night with a bunch of couples. They had this whole fair/carnival thing along with the haunted maze event. It was so much fun! They had this jumpy thing called a "jumping pillow". The haunted maze was fun too...I hate being scared though.

Lastly, this morning we finally hiked Stewart Falls. I have been trying to get Casey to do this hike since he proposed to me at the same spot 2 years ago around this time. It was so beautiful! Such a great Saturday morning activity. It's amazing how it is still warm here ! I have decided that I love hiking. When I got home I realized that it made me feel that same way I feel when I would wake up at 6am, go surf Malibu and get home at 11am feeling so accomplished...already exercised and been one with nature.

I'm so proud of my lil bro! His flight left this morning from SLC to Phoenix where he will be for the next 2 years!!! I am kind of upset that I missed his call from the airport this morning by 5 minutes though :( I was in my power pump class at the gym and right when I get back in my car I notice I have like 3 missed calls and a voicemail. He did leave me a nice message though. It was sweet. Trent has only been in the MTC for 3 weeks and it flew by so fast! He only has 101 weeks left of the mission. Go Trent! Seriously I never thought the day would come that my little brother would be serving a mission. I am so proud to say that I have a lil bro serving the Lord today. Keep him in your prayers!

Casey just turned the big 2--7 a couple days ago! Crazy. My buddy is growing up into a real man. I feel bad because his birthday always falls at a time where we are out of town or our families are so he ends up not getting any much needed birthday attention. BUT this year we actually ended up being at home and were able to have a family sunday birthday dinner with the Kirklands and celebrate on our own with a dinner at Sundance. Oh and being the great wife that I am, I woke up at 6:30 am and headed to Magleby's to get him french toast before he had to leave to work. I rule.

I love these shoes!!!!! and KEDS decided to make them only for MEN. I searched online all last night for them and they don't exist in women's sizes. I am really bummed. weekend trip to CA and Vegas

This post is kinda of overdue....oh well. In July my mother-in-law Christy and sister-in-law Kelly went to CA for a week to visit Alma (my father-in-law's mom) in Long Beach. I took advantage of the situation and flew down one way on Thursday to drive back with them on Saturday. I spent a great couple of days going to the Malibu (the waves were finally good to me), shopping, eating Dodger dogs and hanging out with my family. On Saturday we drove to Vegas, saw the Donny and Marie show, stayed at the Flamingo and took off the next morning. It was a great, needed mini vacation !

Yesterday was my best buddy Sara's wedding !!!! It was so pretty. Arizona has some funky weather but we had a great time and I am so happy for the new couple !! They finally have joined the married club. Casey and I are looking forward to some fun double dates with them.

I usually don't do posts like this but I just wanted to get this info out there. So, as we all know, Plato's Closet is the biggest joke ever. They never take the good stuff. The only clothes they ever buy from me are from Forever 21 or Target. I do not get them at all. And the most money I ever get from there is on average around $12.oo. Plus, you have to walk around and look at lame, ugly clothes while you wait. It would be nice if they at least had cute stuff to buy at reasonable prices.....WELL, I have found a solution. Its location is not the greatest but if you are ever in the Salt Lake area you need to visit Name Droppers. This was my first time there so I did not bring anything to sell but I did find some great stuff. All their clothes are name brand designs that you would find at stores like Anthropologie, Nordstrom or Lohmanns. Most of their clothes still has the tags and they have a huge clearance section in the back. This is a little bit delayed. Oh well. So for the 4th of July Casey and I went to Island Park, ID with Casey's family. It was lots of fun! It was actually warm this year, which was a great contrast from last year. We were just there for a couple of days and we spent them out on the lake, playing games at night and enjoying the spectacular firework show over the water.

Casey made me read it because he sometimes thinks that I need to be more friendly and outgoing, especially around people that I just meet. My aunt Jody and her husband ran in the Ragnar race this past weekend and asked us to be volunteers in exchange for a room at the Waldorf Astoria. duuuhhhhh YES! It was such a nice hotel, it reminded me of our honeymoon. SO the night before we met up with some friends, Chris and Taryn, Ben and Liz, to get some dinner and do the alpine slides. The next day our shift to volunteer wasn't till 4pm so we had all day to go get some breakfast, shop at the outlets and just relax by the pool. It was a great weekend !

So my sister Becca and I have been to this place a couple times now on our weekly lunch dates. It is soooooooo divine! I always get the Thai Chicken Pizza (I think it's the slice on the top). This past weekend Casey and I went to Island Park with his family and stayed at their cabin on the lake. It was a good change of scenery, so green and so many treees! I love trees more than anything. The weather was not the best but we had fun playing games and getting fat on too much food. On Saturday, Casey and I, being the wonderful Aunt and Uncle that we are, took Cali and Cole to Yellowstone! They were in heaven. We actually witnessed a Buffalo giving birth ! It was nast. There were hundreds of buffalo everywhere. Crossing the road in front of us and all. And what is a trip to Yellowstone without going to Old Faithful! One of the Seven Wonders of the World duuuuhhhhhh. jk. Actually it is not even that cool. I've been there twice. Well here are the pictures. I only got ones from Yellowstone :(

I can't help it. I had a week off between semesters, meaning that this is probably the only time I can go to California all summer. So why seize the opportunity? All I have to do is worry about getting there and then I'm good. So I headed down on a Saturday. Casey didn't come till Wednesday and we flew back on Sunday night. It was a great trip. Especially for me since I was there for over a week. I went to the Dodger vs. Rockies game with my parents and Chad. Later when Casey met up with me we got together with our friends Mercedes and Aaron and went down to San Diego to go to a Dodgers vs. Padres game. and Dodgers won of course!!! Our week was filled with surfing, biking, golfing and tibetian foot massages. Who could ask for more?

We got to visit Casey's lovely grandma Alma!

I know this post is over a month delayed. Life just got kinda crazy since then. Anyways, I graduated from BYU! I actually graduated in December but you can't walk until April. And I started nursing school in January so I don't really feel like I graduated for real because I am still not done with school. However, it was great to have my parents come up from California for the ceremony. And I really did enjoy walking; I think that just getting a diploma in the mail is not enough. You have to go through the whole ceremony thing to finally realize that you are done with your degree !! Thanks to all you that came!! Kirklands, Andersons and Holidays!!

a little update...

WE GOT A DOG !!! His name is Charlie Tuttle Kirkland. We got him from our friends/neighbors the Tuttles who are moving to Boise. He is a miniature schnauzer. He is only 8 months old so he still has that puppy spirit to him. Charlie is a great little dog and we love having him in our family!

I turned 22! To celebrate Casey surprised me with a dozen roses when I woke up, we went to starbucks for breakfast and then both headed to work for the day. I was able to go to lunch with my sister and aunt so that was a nice break from work. For dinner we headed up to Park City and when we got home I was surprised with my birthday present: A NEW MATRESSSSS!!! We were in desperate need of one. We had been sleeping on a model home mattress (the cheapest mattress you could possibly buy). I slept like a baby.

The next day we had a little dessert party with some friends. Thanks to all you who helped out and brought the yummmmmy treats ! Overall, it was a great birthday !!!!! Thanks Case!
