Chase's THIRD Birthday!

Chase turned 3 earlier this month and I totally forgot to post about it!

We went whale watching for his birthday with our friends the Wellmans and saw tons of whales! It was awesome. Chase loved it!

That night I took Chase on a little date to see Zootopia. Our first movie together. He did so well! I think the box of gummy bears helped. 

Sunday was his actual birthday so I made him pancakes for breakfast and then we went to church. We had dinner with our friends and cupcakes (Chase's favorite) for dessert. 

Later that week we did a joint birthday party with Chase's friend Cohen at the park. Chase loved the attention and especially having his own cake :)

Here are some Chase stats:

-around 34 lbs (has his 3 year-old wellness checkup next week)

-still sleeps in his crib

-takes one 3-4 hour nap a day

-Not potty trained yet (I need to start soon)

-has lots of teeth haha

-Favorite foods: pasta, pizza, pancakes, strawberries, bananas, raisins,  yogurt, ice cream, cookies

-Talks and sings a ton!

-Is obsessed with all types of construction vehicles and can name them on the side of the freeway

-is a serious mama's boy and only lets me put him to sleep these days

-loves the park and playing with his friends

-will "dig" in the backyard all day if I let him

-collects rocks and seashells (Thanks Nanny)

-loves his brother "Jimmy bubba"

Casey's 32nd Birthday!

Casey just had a birthday last week! And naturally bought himself a new surfboard. I'm pretty sure he did the same thing last year. Which makes is pretty easy for me when it comes to birthday shopping. We had a pretty low-key weekend. His birthday was on Sunday so Saturday we had a date just the two of us. We went up to Laguna Beach and I surprised him with reservations at Tommy Bahama. So GOOD! I'm still dreaming about the butterfish I had. We felt like we were in Hawaii again. Then on Sunday I woke up early to put up his birthday banner and make his favorite pancakes. After church I made him lunch and started to work on making his moms' strawberry pie. I've never made pie. SO I was a little nervous but it turned out great! We had my family down for dinner. We just bbqed and had potatoes and green beans. Then for dessert we took the pies to Salt Creek and watched the sunset. It was kind of magical! He lucked out and pretty much had a perfect birthday! 

We love him so much and can't believe how old he is ahhhh!!

My 27th Birthday Weekend!

The older I get the more I realize how normal a birthday can be. Especially if it falls on a Monday. Which is the reason we celebrated the weekend before!

We headed up to La Canada Thursday night. Casey worked from my parents on Friday and I was able to go to the mart (best samples sales in LA) in the morning with my mom and sister. I scored! I haven't really shopped since having Jimmy so it was nice to get some new clothes!

Friday night we went to dinner in Old Town Pasadena and got massages just the two of us. It was perfect. Then on Saturday morning we headed out to Malibu, had brunch on the pier then went surfing! I forgot how much I missed that wave. Not the crowds though. That night we had a babysitter so my parents took us all out to Taylor's Steakhouse. Oh how I love a good steak. 

Sunday I woke up feeling really crummy. I came down with a flu bug and ended up staying home from church with Jimmy. We had a little family dinner and my best friend Sara and her husband came too! Then on Monday was my actual birthday. I was even more sick....that was fun. Casey got me Banzai bowl for breakfast and we had a bonfire at Sano that night with friends! 

Overall it was a great weekend full of surfing, good food and lots of family and friend time!
