Christmas 2017

I can't believe it is already February! Wow. Ok so Christmas this last year was pretty great. Having a newborn around made it extra magical. And I loved that we just stayed home! Waking up in your own house with your kids is the best!

We went up to La Canada the Saturday before Christmas to for the Anderson Cousin Party and Annual Girls breakfast with grandma. Its pretty fun to be around my cousins and all their kids. The boys were part of the natvity. Auggie was Baby Jesus, Jimmy was the Cow and Chase was the Star again!

Christmas Eve we had Chinese takeout at my house and Becca made sugar cookies for the boys to give to Santa. They loved it! In the morning my parents, Becca, Kenze and Chad come over to open presents and have breakfast. The boys went surfing after and Kenzie and I did a workout in the backyard. 

Later on Christmas we decided to just head up to Ventura. It was so beautiful up there!!!

a week of Ventura and Santa Barbara

So from when I was 12-22 years old my parents owned a beach condo in Ventura with our cousins. Right after I got married, due to financial reasons they had to sell it back to our cousins. Well just a few months ago they got another one! And it's just two floors above the old one. They remodeled basically the whole thing and it is beautiful!

Our tradition was to go to the Ventura County Fair every summer and we finally made it back!

We packed a weeks worth of stuff and Casey just figured he could work from there. One day he had a meeting in LA which is actually more accessible from Ventura then Orange County. 

We left at 830pm on a Thursday night and it only took us 2 hours to get there! 

I feel like it is a healthy distance for a little getaway.

I can't even tell you how happy I was to be back in Ventura. We had the best time! And my Mom and Dad were pretty excited about it too!

At the fair they have concerts almost every night and they are free with your fair admission. Oh and the best part is that you can walk up the boardwalk from the condo and the fair is right there!

Casey and I went surfing a few times with my Dad. We had perfect little waves, my favorite. 

And Third Eye Blind played one night so that was probably my highlight of the trip. 

One day we decided to go up to Santa Barbara and visit the zoo. It's only a 20 minute drive up the coast. Jimmy got to feed a giraffe and Chase was too scared. We had McConnell's ice cream a few times when were were there. It is seriously my favorite ice cream ever. Their sea salt cream and cookies it to die for. I'm craving a trip up there again so I can eat this haha. 

We are pretty happy about having Ventura in our lives again and can't wait to go back soon!
