decorating ideas

Decorating a new house is lots of fun but it is also very overwhelming. You want to do it right the first time but if you don't have all the money in the world you have to be patient. That's the problem we are running into right now. We have our bedroom figured out and the family room in the kitchen but we still need a couple pieces of main furniture. $$$ is what is comes down to. It's easy to find stuff you love but spending the money gives me anxiety. I didn't realize how much you have to spend when you buy a new house. Going from one bathroom to three means buying more shower curtains, rugs, towels and trust me those things add up! Even though we are trying to buy things slow it doesn't stop me from doing my research and finding what I really want!

I'm looking for a hutch like this in the kitchen

This is almost the exact color we ended up painting our kitchen

found these at TJmaxx but I didn't end up getting them :(

Target. I saw these then went back a few days later and they were gone...

This is kind of the look I want to go for in our living room. We are still waiting on our love seat to come in.

I want that print

ch ch ch changes...

People say that there are a couple of major changes that happen in your life like buying a new home, having a baby, moving and changing your job. Well we just decided to do ALL OF THEM within a couple months. We did not plan it that way but that's how it happened!

 1. Our new HOME! We moved last weekend and are still trying to organize and figure out furniture/decorating. We love having all the extra space. Our old house was around 900 sq ft so let's just say it's nice to have more than one bathroom :)

2. We are finally having a BABY! due April 9, 2013. After trying for over a year I found out I was pregnant in July. I'm currently 18 weeks and not feeling sick anymore! The first trimester is the worst.
 3. Casey got a NEW JOB. Casey randomly applied to this job not thinking anything of it, ended up going through about 5 interviews and got the job! We actually found out he got the job the same day they accepted our offer for the house...It's been a crazy last couple of months to say the least.

We are so grateful for all these changes! And we are excited to see what the next year will bring. Changes are a good thing even if they come all at once!

Summer is over...bring on the FALL!

As much as I have loved this summer in Utah I think I am ready for FALL. I used to say that SUMMER was my favorite season but I've decided that is only the case when I live by the ocean. In Utah I have to say that FALL is the best season of all. Plus with this summer being so hot! I am really done. Bring on the pumpkins, hot chocolate, holidays, sweaters and boots!
Here is a re-cap of some fun we had this summer...

my favorite OLYMPIC commercial

I've noticed that this year the commercials during the olympics have been really great. This one is my favorite. You might get a little teary eyed...

California Dreamin'

We were somehow able to sneak in another trip back to the Golden State this summer. As long as Casey can set up work meetings somewhere in So-Cal the trip makes sense to us. This time we were there to visit Casey's side of the family. His grandma Alma lives in Long Beach along with his Aunts and Uncles. It was lots of fun to see that side of the city I have never seen before. We did manage to spend a little bit of time with my family too! We spent lots of time at the beach, surfing, riding bikes and eating yummy food!
Here are too many pictures....
