A few weekends ago we spent the weekend up near Santa Barbara at El Capitan Canyon. We have been taking full advantage of all the California coast has to offer these days :)
El Capitan is what they call "glamping". There are safari tents, yurts and cabins and they all have heaters, beds, and all linens. The cabins have bathrooms which we deemed necessary with having two little ones. We are kind of wimps when it comes to camping.
We spend two nights there and it was perfect!
It took around 4 hours to get there due to Friday traffic. We met my parents in Ventura to swim and surf but it was blown out. That evening we made tin-foil dinners and smores with friends. It was so nice because we were able to put the kids to bed and hang out by the fire at night. There were around 7-8 other families from San Clemente that came so Chase had plenty of friends!
Saturday we went into Santa Barbara. We had lunch at Three Pickles then headed to the Zoo. The zoo there is so awesome. Perfect size and has an ocean view!
After we had ice cream at McConnells! so amazing.
That afternoon the boys napped, Casey surfed and I just hung out by our fire. We ordered pizza from the general store and sat around the fire.
It was a perfect little getaway!
We felt like we were in the mountains in our little canyon.
The weather was cool and everything was so green!
Hopefully we can make it a yearly trip :)
Our nice little setup
