There's nothing like home.

Let me just say that I am very fortunate to have a go to place whenever I need a break. I am so grateful that my parents still live in California and that they have an awesome house that I can go home to whenever I want. I just need to get there somehow! And I usually make that happen every so often.  This time Casey had a business in Glendale on Monday and Tuesday so we made a long weekend out of it and headed down to the golden state. It was lots of fun! We got in all of our favorite summer activities while spending quality time with my family. It was a great little trip!

 First stop...The BEACH. I hadn't been surfing since January. I think that's a record for me that I'm not proud of.

Utah Summer Bucket List

This is my effort to take advantage of living in such a beautiful place...

1. Go to a National Park (Moab or Zion's) I've been trying to get Casey to take me to one of these places for years. 

2. Go on more hikes in Park City and Salt Lake Area. I found some good ones here

3. Go to an outdoor concert...I'm thinking the singer/songwriter ones at Sundance here

4. See something at the Scera Shell since it's right down the street from me. Maybe an outdoor movie? here

5. Sample all of the shaved ice places in Provo/Orem

6. Go to a Museum in Salt Lake...Natural History Museum Here

7. Road bike somewhere in Park City

8. Do a Triathlon...I need someone to do this one with me

9. Get really good at BBQing. Any recommendations for a good book?

10. See Al Green July 27 at the Red Butte Gardens

11. Paddle Board the Provo River!

12. Go to Lagoon. I have never been there!
13. Alpine Slides in Park City...always a must.
14. Girls night somewhere...Park City/Midway/Heber
15. Beat Casey at Tennis.


This list could go on and on...

life changing stuff

This stuff is awesome. My mom gave it to me for my birthday last year and I ran out 8 months later. Then to my surprise City Creek in Salt Lake opened up a LUSH store. And now I'm stocked up! This is seriously the best body cream I have ever used. It has helped me maintain my Hawaii tan in the dry Utah climate. It is a little pricey but I promise you it lasts for a couple months and it smells awesome.

The BIG island

My parents have been going on this trip for 3 years now and this is the 2nd year we have joined them. They do this golf tournament on the Big Island called the Pink Lady. My mom's cousin's father-in-law organizes it. So of course we couldn't say no to the opportunity to golf and lay on the beach for a week! It was so much fun to hang out with my parents, their friends and other family (my cousins, aunt and uncle and grandma all went!). Hawaii is seriously one of our most favorite places on the earth. It's always a good time :)

this past month...

I've been quite busy lately hence the double posting in one day. I feel like working 2 jobs is catching up with me these day. But in between the work days we still manage to have fun. Here is what we've been up to lately...

 watching lots of netflix on my days off...Friday Night Lights, Vampire Diaries and most recently DOWNTON ABBEY ! loves it 

 I worked on EASTER. that was fun :( 

 We got a new car !

 I sold my dads car for him. He was very grateful. 

 I've been hiking the Y every Monday. Sometimes more than once a week.

Birthday and family comes to visit!

My family came to down my birthday weekend for their spring break! It was perfect timing for me. It was fun to ski with the siblings and my dad and shop with my mom! And have a couple of birthday dinners :) I can't wait till Kenzie moves up here for summer school in June!
